How do you turn the pilot light back on a gas dryer?

I moved my dryer to check the air vent, and when I moved it back the pilot light went out. It won't come back on, and I even changed the fuse. Any suggestions? How do you turn the pilot light back on a gas dryer?Never heard of a gas dryer having a pilot light. In fact they use a kind of spark plug to ignite the gas, similar to how you ignite the LP on a gas cooker.

If you disconnected the gas, the line may have a lot of air in it and may take a while before it bleeds out and ignites properly. How do you turn the pilot light back on a gas dryer?Call the Gas company ASAP! You may have pulled the line. Push the botton for a gas leak just to be safe@How do you turn the pilot light back on a gas dryer? If your gas dryer has a pilot it has to be at least 40 years old. If it is that old, there is a reset valve in the burner compartment where the pilot is. It is not an easy task and I would suggest you call a professional such as your local utility if they offer that kind of service. If it is not that old then chances are you have a burned out ignitor. This is an electrical component that heats up to open the gas valve and ignite the gas. It too is an easy fix for the knowledgeable handyman but I would not suggest a novice do the job. There is direct line voltage connecting to the ignitor and you could suffer a bad shock or worse.
